Infinite
The twofold significance of distinct moments has in the nature of self-consciousness to be infinite, or directly the opposite of the determinateness in which it is pointed.
Substance, as the universal essence and End, stands over against the individual reality; the infinite middle term is self-consciousness which, being the implicit unity of itself and substance, now becomes that unity explicitly and unites the universal essence and its individual reality.
