  advice?
don't listen to people who tell you that you cannot do something. For they have not done it themselves.

instead listen to those who tell you that you can do something. For they have ideas.

i can see the appeal in varying forms of human relations.

i do what i do and i see what i see. it could only ever happen to me.

tis all self interested. little tasks i set myself. points of achievement. slow emotional responses. put thyself in precarious positions of stress, guilt, ecstacy. and ambiguity just for the hell of it/ anything to fight monotony/ anything to be otherwise.

sat down to watch the tv.
sat down to play the cards.

to just out against the unwavering ocean. the consistent. the persistent. i will resist. i will make it even more difficult. i will learn. i will walk the line of free liberty. the fringe they call it. i will push against a moveable object, so heavy that any movement is unperceivable. the act, like the thought, goes passed totally unwitnessed.

i will be unseen.
i will be unnoticed.

shut up.

poke out his eyes. throw it in the fire. put it on a skewer. white ooze, steamy marshmellow. thought dripping, sugary sweet, refined solids melt. hand wanting / finger licking / steamed and grilled. marinated. poached, and whipped eyes.
throw it down the hatch.

  Blue Mountain Backyard

cockatoo17.jpg, originally uploaded by hayden.daley.

So this is what i have to play in at the very moment. I don't have to walk anywhere for my park, reserve, or any animals. they all come to me. every morning a large contigent of cockatoos come in to eat the fruit and remaing birdseed. My sister in-law feeds caged birds and leaves some out for the natives. Following the cockatoos are galahs and wild pigeons. In the afternoon is a variety of minor birds, and other aussie natives. And of an evening bats, and some sqwarking bird i haven't seen only heard. so we get a lot of birds. if i walk down to the paddock where the horse is and sit for a bit - usually reading a book - the ducks and rabbits come by. if a get down early in the morning the odd pademelon hops about.

So, it seems people are in the habit of having their own private parks around these parts. As often on my walks i have been given quite deep and long stares, and questioning glances. Many clear signs stating that it is private property, and dogs everywhere...barking and otherwise working themselves into a state if one comes anywhere near the perimeter. It's all a bit funny really. I just want to see what their parks look like.

Anyways enjoy this shot of my backyard. If you are one of the select few who have priviledged access to my flickr site then peruse away. I have finally got out the dslr and i expect to carry it around when the rain clears.

it's always good to have the water on the boil. it keeps one mind on the toes. it is cold here. and dark too. where people are rivulets running between ponds of water. it is quiet her and they like it. it fives them time to listen. one can hear around these parts. there is just a little more time here. more time to think. those things that lie out here and wait; those things sneak up on you slowly. approach from the front. always from the front, because it wants to be observed. it doesn't want attention - it wants to know that it is observed. presence felt. good is merely one thing over and above its reflective opposite. useful but misleading. too much hind leg action not enough forearm. am i looking up at all? is it merely the self that has expression, and as the self changes, as under the influence of toxins that expression of the self changes? alters the perception of self. obviously one is altered whilst under influence. but memory seems to point at some base level of consistency. bodily memory. that is the body is altering, rememberind and building upon alterations. so it seems a sage bet that the body is a condition of the same. the same thing is being changed. their is an organisational history in the very dna of the body. dna has all the beginnings and endings. it knows my very conception to my final decomposition. it knows its strengths and weaknesses.

is a desirous feeling' enjoy observation. its a desirous feeling but i enjoy the observation. and what spectacular observations there are to be had. of merit. of humour. practical use and diplomatic enterprise. the punctuation. the words/ the sentiment. sentiment is the best part. oh to capture sentiment. read the dribble. it goes down so well.
reign in all the self doubt. justify all the meaning away. dont let the realit kick in. dont ever thing about what is going on around you. only think about the perception itself. everything else is speculation. my body empathises/ before the mind, prior to understanding the empathy it is empathising.

it was the same rule applied with the same result. the context differed so the means differed. but the intention and the result stabilised.
let us not be caught up in the grand intention of it all, as though there some grat metaphysic or anthropological study being undertaken here. this is but a method of interaction. an observation, nay, reflection on the most basic instructions of living. so basic are their premises that the formulation of word makes their description a diservice. but a wanting diservice nonetheless. for the wanton play of words and desire for experience is at its heart. it is only for the sake of living, abstract acting life in multiplicities or abstraction to live them, and thn in their living post an insight. boil down nutter away at. take a hold of. grown excited spent. have a moment to sit and talk about the situation. really express yourself. feel as though there is nothing holding you back. for there is and that is what is you, but if for a moment you were to lose the symptoms and thereby forget the cause, what then 'ould you think. without that unnerving sense of self and being otherwise than just be in a space living in desire rather than having that of your own.

maybe someday we will all be like you. maybe they will stop colouring in all the block letters. perhaps all the mind numbing work will stop. probably not. but maybe at some point they will wake up. all at once. one at a time. a slow death.
these boys really loved them. they wrote songs about them just like the old times. when everyone was creative. it's just tht not everyone is marketable. unfortunate.
i thought for half a moment that i would vacuum. upon finging the vacuum. a task upon itself in one manner of speaking. it was only to find the baf totally full of lint and debris. it would not allow for mximum suction. not this time round, not the last twenty times round. i admit that it was the second phrase that got me thinking and ultimately persuaded me into action. for it was the standard of cleaning that was to be endured. for it was not a point of being noticed and congratulated or made high light of those efforts but for the sake of completing a task in line with those duties present. it would not seems as though anything were done but the task would be delayed for a proportionate time. proportionate to the capacity of the premises/ that is to say those living there. taking into account the accomofation circumstances. it was the same rule applied, results the same.

woop. sent off draft to editors today. now i have a day off in leiu. see josh this eve. and then back to work tomorrow. lucky me.

they watch tv. tv of other peoples lives. and tv of murder, the crime investigation type, the police routine meets some sort of (pseudo) science. it is total switch off. chores in the morning. a day in the office. dinner, downtime, and a doze. repeat.

ok. so i don't actually watch tv. i enjoy the medium. i have favourite programs that i admittedly download and watch in my leisure on a computer. it's the current format of television - at least in Australia - that has me reaching for the mains power. i think i am adverse to the placement of adverts. they fuck up a rhythm. i think it might be the same with radio. but kind of different; at least they don't put the add mid song - at least not yet. so tv shows have adapted to the format and use the commercials as a sense of suspense - i hear an opinion in the back corner. it's just lame. i think that's it - i think tv is just lame - dumbing down to audience, unintelligent dribble. too much is explained, too much is given away, it's the same story ad infinitum - blasted out the same portal again and again. i think that is what i find so offensive and banal about tv. every time it is switched on i see the same thing. it's stagnation. it's almost as though nothing has changed in the 50 years or so it has been going. perhaps it looks better, and more money is thrown into the industry, and hell they even broadcast it in digital high definition these days...but i tell you what i am hard pressed finding something that isn't predictable because i haven't heard of it before.

actually now that i am really getting going here. i am seeing a comparison between tv and film. i think maybe that tv has the wrong aim. what is tv trying to do? what ought tv do?

ok. so i have tv trying to be dead time - time to zone off because the brain is dead and the body just needs more time to be worn out. and television tries to tell stories - moral fables and lessons learnt etc. let's not forget entertain. a lot of tv starrted out as entertainment variety shows. ok so that might be a good place to start. what sort of entertainment is best suited to the medium of television?

i guess everyone has a switch off time. what is yours?

what do you the aims of television are?

it has been a hard slog. i have models of accountability running around in my head, and far too much Rousseau for someone who knew next to nothing about him six months ago. i've spent the whole day trying to wrap this essay up, and i'm still at least two days away from it. with any luck i'll have this draft, the third draft, finished tomorrow morning in order to email it away to various persons who will undoubtedly email it back absolutely torn to shreds. which is good. but right now i am not looking forward to it.

i will take tomorrow afternoon and evening off. joshua gets back tomorrow evening. hurrah. that will be exciting. but i wont be able to spend much time with him as of yet, because come tuesday i will have to start on the second essay - Rousseau meets Kant in a definition of the subject. this is much more familiar ground for me, but still it is gonna be tight. ten days to read the necessary secondary material and write the essay. it's the six thousand words that are killing me on the first draft. i can knock out an idea pretty solid in about three to four thousand, and from that get a pretty neat and tight two to three thousand word essay. but the first drafts of these six thousand worders are just scraping into six thousand. they take much more time going back over the argument, rehashing it, and making sure it is flowing on logically and soundly. i don't think i have ever worked on anything so sustained ever.

for my sake i should set down a bit of a timeline. if it is really finished on the 26th i have to send out the 3rd draft on the 25th. which means i have to draft over the weekend of the 21st and 22nd. which means i have tuesday/wednesday/thursday/friday to read and take notes. phew. they are gonna be four hell of a days.

doable, but i have totally made this more difficult for myself than i needed to. remind myself to post about living in the blue mountains. wow. something different.

  Same same - citizenship
a citizen is an employee. a 'social contract' is arrange whereby the will of the corporate, priviledges and responsibilites, and the law is outlined.

what is the law? two types. law as carried by legislation will be broad governance law and corporate/trade bahviour law. the second will be the law as it signed upon the terms of employment - policed by the corporation. it is this law that will most duly effect the citizens.

citizenship will vary given the type of employment and for whom one is employed.

political citizenship is valid only to corporations. this is due to the ballooning of populations across the globe, that in 'democratic' nations the legitimising power of the people has become invalid. the sheer size of the ratio between people and the law (politic) has breed an apolitic and apathetic populus and a governing body that no longer has the means to act in accordance with public interest or public good. it was always a party system anyways, so public interest was never really served, it was always party interest.

following, the corporations then become the new citizens. the govt now endure the corporate interest or the corporate good, and the well being of people is looked after by their employers.

employees are housed according to the contract that incudes a position, both geographic and socioeconomic, based on utility to the corporations mission statement. primarily the abode fulfills two directives; to optimise th utility of the employee. this is achieved by making the abode as favourable as possible to the job the employee is contracted for. the specifics are conjured in line with personality typing (jeung), programming psyche (sartre), and working with the inevitabilities of bio-power (foucault).

the second directive is that of retention or promotion. the skills and knowledge that an employee may gain through the contract ought to be shaed in such a way to make the employee incomptabile with competing marketplace corporations. All the while streamlining the employee's suitability for potnetional growth and fulfilment of arising vacancies. besides reducing the workforce available for the competition this method simultaneously increases the employee's dependance upon the corporation, thereby weakening the employee's bargaing position in the contract. ultimately the employee would be born into the contract - becoming a member of the corporate family or political system - where services rendered would justify or 'pay for' living, such as arguments may be considered for free education as an investment in a future citizen and taxes accomodate the pension in retirement. the employee would be so alienated from every labour as to fail to recognise the alienation.

currency would be replaced by provision. instead of earning monies/wage the necessary provisions are arranged for a bargained standard of living. note that at this stage of a person's employment that this arrangement has implicational growth for generational employees.

Same same - Gvt. becomes minimal
gvt has a governing role in terms of foreign affairs and immigration. all duties are managed at a federal level as all other levels of government are abolished.

there is a standing military force. thus tax is collected. military tax is collected from those who have not fulfilled military service, 3 years. this is a flat income tax.

gvt protects the conditions in which trade can endure. internal crime toward trade is considered terrorism. gvt takes on diplomatic procedure with potential trading nations. maintains relations with current trading nations. crushes - forms coalitions against - those nations who do not wish to trade sufficiently with nation(s).

land is divided into military operations and legal corporate bodies. land has either become too expensive, or illegal, to be owned by individual persons. tax is collected on land.

anything else that cannot be privatised?

two party preferred system. however the party leader is decided by lottery, the vote is between the two leaders, which will take the 'top job'. the 'top job' is purely a lightening rod for the party as the position is filled with international photo opportunities. 2 year terms. no preferential voting. no independants. vote online. both party's are heavily backed by business.

  bells of line
put up in a new place. old space. familiar ground.

got all this time to myself apparently. haven't noticed it yet. oh so much to do. deadlines encroaching.

death encroaching.

what a bother. harassment. masquerading as responsibility.

will do this will do that. haven't done a thing and still chatting. it's all research based. consider it field research. experience.

a life.

people waste my time. seemingly people are the reason for my time. when a moment occurs chance words will appear on paper. supposedly read by people.
