The fold does not only pass between the essential and the existent. It also passes between the soul and the body. The world actualises itself in the soul and realises itself in the body. Thus the world is twice folded; once in the soul and again in the body. Each time the world folds to the nature of the soul or the determination of the body. Between the two folds is a zone inseparable, the flesh of the world.
